In the state of Oklahoma, there are various methods available to locate inmates in state prisons, county jails, and federal prisons. This guide will provide an overview of these options, including the use of the Vine search system, to help you find the information you're looking for.

State Prisons: To search for an inmate in an Oklahoma state prison, use the Oklahoma Department of Corrections (ODOC) Offender Lookup system. This online database allows you to search by name, aliases, or ODOC number. You can also refine your search by adding details such as gender, age, and race. Once you've entered the necessary information, the system will display a list of possible matches, including their full name, ODOC number, date of birth, and facility location.

County Jails: Each county in Oklahoma operates its own jail system, so the process for locating inmates may vary slightly between counties. Many counties provide an online inmate search tool on their official website, while others require you to contact the local Sheriff's office directly. When using the online search tools, you can typically search by name, date of birth, or booking number. If the inmate is found, their information will be displayed, including charges, bond amount, and booking information.

Federal Prisons: For individuals incarcerated in federal prisons within Oklahoma, the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) provides an Inmate Locator tool on their website. This database contains information about federal inmates from 1982 to the present. To conduct a search, you'll need the inmate's name, BOP register number, or DCDC number. The Inmate Locator will provide you with the inmate's register number, age, race, sex, release date, and the location of the facility they are currently housed in.

VINE Search: The Victim Information and Notification Everyday (VINE) system is a free, confidential service that enables users to search for and track the status of inmates in Oklahoma's state prisons and county jails. VINE provides information on custody status, facility location, and scheduled release dates. To use VINE, you can either access the VINE website or call the toll-free VINE phone number.

To perform a search on the VINE website, you'll need the offender's name, date of birth, or inmate identification number. If the person you are looking for is in custody, their information will be displayed, including custody status, facility, and scheduled release date. Additionally, VINE allows you to register for automated notifications via phone, email, or text message, informing you of any changes in the inmate's custody status or release date.
