PROSECUTOR FILES LAWSUIT TO OUST LANGLEY MAYOR FROM OFFICE
December 20, 2012 The Island County Prosecutor has filed a civil “quo warranto” lawsuit to obtain a judgment determining the status of Langley Mayor Larry Kwarsick after Mr. Kwarsick was convicted of “False Report by a Public Officer” on December 17, 2012. The lawsuit is intended to enforce a provision of State law that requires public officials convicted of criminal malfeasance to step down from office, and to be forever barred from holding public office.

PROSECUTOR DECLINES TO CHARGE SNOHOMISH COUNTY EXECUTIVE IN OFFICIAL MISCONDUCT INVESTIGATION
June 13, 2012 I have reviewed the investigation by the Washington State Patrol into allegations that Snohomish County Executive Aaron Reardon improperly used government funds for personal benefit. February 23, 2012 I have decided not to seek the death penalty against Joshua David Lambert for the alleged murder of his two grandfathers, George Daniel Lambert and August “Gene” Eisner. PEGGY THOMAS SECOND DEFENDANT CHARGED IN MURDER OF RUSSEL DOUGLAS – ARRESTED BY AUTHORITIES IN NEW MEXICO
July 11 , 2011. Last week, on July 6, we charged Peggy Thomas as an accomplice in the 2003 murder of Russel Douglas. The Superior Court issued a warrant, with bail set at $5 million dollars. The San Juan County, New Mexico fugitive response team arrested near her houseboat in Navajo Dam, New Mexico on Saturday, July 9. She is now awaiting extradition to Washington.

JAMES HUDEN ARRESTED IN MEXICO
FOR ISLAND COUNTY MURDER OF RUSSEL DOUGLAS
June 10, 2011. James Huden was arrested in Veracruz, Mexico on June 9, 2011. Huden has been a fugitive from Island County since we filed first degree murder charges against him in May, 2005 for the December 26, 2003 slaying of Russel A. Douglas of Langley, Washington. An Island County Superior Court judge issued an arrest warrant in 2005 with bail set at $1,000,000….
